Our swallows are about to leave on their travels I think. Quite cute to see them all sat in a line trying to pluck up the courage to fly…

I have built up the stone over the doorway a little more. We still need to finish pointing above the fireplace but it’s a little damp due to the open chimney.

Still persisting……..It is starting to look better as it dries…

Getting bored now………

Struggling to see a difference……..

You can see how time consuming this is by how long it’s taking!

Finally found something that takes up loads of our time but doesn’t actually cost anything to do!

we have started to rake out the old lime mortar inside the cottage – it’s very dry and crumbly. I’m amazed the wall is still standing! we are re-pointing, but it will be a long job. If the weather ever improves we also need to do the outside ………

I used up the remains of the ballast that has been blocking the driveway at the front for months. Didn’t do much of the path but every little helps.
